Begin your voyage on the Catalina Express from Dana Point, Long Beach, or San Pedro. In about an hour, the boat will arrive at the beautiful Catalina Island, just 22 miles off the coast of Southern California. Be sure to be on the lookout for dolphins and other marine life casually swimming around the boat. Tour the local shops and restaurants or dip your toes in the water at Avalon Harbor before you explore the ocean deep.
Your one hour nautical adventure begins as you enter a spacious, climate-controlled, semi-submersible vessel. Come up close and personal with a collection of marine life by coasting five feet under water. Each passenger has a personal seat and port hole while still maintaining the freedom to roam the cabin. A vibrant display of aquatic creatures, such as bright orange garibaldi, spotted calico bass, urchins, rockfish, and bat rays gather together as they are fed from the vessel. Observe the native plants, dense kelp gardens, and immense rock formations as you leisurely cruise back to Catalina’s shores.
