The Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California, is a 19th-century mansion complete with enchanting architectural details, interesting history, and legends of hauntings. Once home to a widow of a gun magnate named Sarah Winchester, each room is uniquely decorated with artifacts that uncover her story. It is believed that through her grief from losing her husband and daughter, Mrs. Winchester continuously built onto her once small, two-story farmhouse for 38 years. Tour through over one hundred different rooms of the Winchester Mystery House and observe some of the peculiar attributes such as a window built into the floor, doors that open onto blank walls, staircases leading right up to ceilings, and the Mrs. Winchester’s strange obsession with the number “13”. The Mansion Tour also includes entrance to the Historic Firearms Museum, the Victorian Gardens, and the Speciality Gifts and Antique Products Museum.
